What Data do we collect?

When you browse our website, we may collect various types of Data, including the following:

Daan Technologies SAS is concerned about the protection of personal data. It is committed to ensuring the highest level of protection for your personal data in accordance with the European and French regulations applicable to it in terms of personal data protection.

Who is the data controller of my personal data?

The data controller is the company that defines for what purpose and how your personal data is used.

The personal data collected on the site are processed by : Daan Technologies SAS, whose headquarters is located 7 rue du Progrès – 93 100 Montreuil (RCS Bobigny 821 934 916) (hereinafter ” Daan Tech “).

Why does Daan Tech collect my personal data?

Daan Tech uses your personal data mainly for the following purposes:

  • Management of orders and customer relations

We need your personal information to process your orders and to follow up on them (e.g. deliveries, invoices, accounting and in particular the management of customer areas, the management of the Daan Tech Ambassador program, the follow-up of customer relations such as the carrying out of satisfaction surveys, the management of complaints and after-sales service, or the selection of customers to carry out studies, surveys and product tests.

  • Payment of your orders or subscriptions

When you pay on our site, your payments are secure. Daan Tech does not collect your payment data but only a payment ID and the first 6 and last 4 digits of your credit card to enable you to recognize the card used for payment. All of your banking information is collected only by our PCI-DSS certified payment service provider, which guarantees the security of payments.

  • Payment at the time of purchase

When you pay for an order, the data relating to the credit card used for payment is kept for the time necessary for the transaction, then for a period of 15 months from the payment to ensure proof of the transaction.

  • Payment as part of a subscription

If you have subscribed to a Daan Tech subscription service or any other subscription service, the credit card used for payment at the time of subscription is recorded for the purposes of payment of your subscription installments in tacit renewal.

  • Registration of your bank card in the e-wallet

If you have accepted the registration of your credit card to facilitate your future purchases, your card is associated with your Daan Tech customer area under “My payment methods” and kept for this purpose for the duration of validity of the credit card as long as you want to associate it with your customer area. You can delete it at any time by going to your customer area – heading “My payment methods” or by making a request to the following address: hello@daan.tech.

  • The personalization of our services and the messages we send you

The data concerning you allows us to improve and personalize the services we offer you and the communications we send you. For example: we may send you personalized emails or recommend products similar to those you have already purchased or viewed that match your interests.

  • Fight against Fraud

The personal data collected on the site are also processed in order to secure payments and deliveries to ensure optimal quality of service. Daan Tech determines the level of fraud risk associated with each order. As part of this analysis, Daan Tech is likely to ask its specialized risk prevention providers to refine its analysis. Some of these service providers (Payline) may receive the results of the analysis carried out and may use it on their behalf to feed their own incident file.

Daan Tech may, depending on the results of the control of the orders, take measures to secure the orders, in particular requesting additional evidence or proposing an alternative method of delivery (eg delivery in a relay point). These measures will have the effect of suspending the execution of the order or, if the result of the analysis does not guarantee the safety of the order, of cancelling it. Fraudulent use of a payment method or delivery fraud may result in the data relating to the order being entered into Daan Tech’s alert file, which may lead Daan Tech to carry out additional checks on future orders.

  • The security of our site

We collect certain navigational data to enable us to ensure the security of our services and to detect, prevent or trace any attempt at malicious intent or computer intrusion or any violation of the terms of use of our services.

  • Personalization of online advertising (targeted advertising)

We may use data that does not directly identify you (such as technical identifiers or socio-demographic data) to tailor the advertising you see on our site or our partners’ sites. Your data may be cross-referenced with browsing data and other information collected through our partner relationships and pseudonymized prior to use, such as your age range or gender, in order to build a user profile and associate interests with it, from which advertisements will be served on behalf of advertising partners.

  • Customer knowledge and statistics and performance of our site

We may use data to better understand our customers or for statistical purposes to analyze our site activity and improve the services we offer. We measure the number of pages viewed, the number of visits to the site, as well as the activity of visitors on the site and their frequency of return.

What personal data is collected about me?

We collect and process in particular your name, first name, address, email address, password, telephone number, IP address, connection data and navigation data, order history, preferences and interests, products consulted, delivery incidents, complaints. In some cases, we may collect location data, for example, to tell you where the nearest drop-off point is.

The compulsory or optional nature of the data is indicated at the time of collection by an asterisk. Some data is collected automatically as a result of your actions on the site, other information may be transmitted by partners.

What communications am I likely to receive?

Information and newsletters

  • Service emails

Following an order or as part of the follow-up of a contract you will receive an email to allow you to follow your order or the execution of your contract (order confirmation, information on the delivery of your package, information on the expiry of your subscription etc.). These service messages are necessary for the proper execution of the orders and services you have requested. The reception of this information is not linked to the choices you have expressed for the reception of newsletters and commercial offers.

For example: you may receive information from time to time that is necessary for the proper execution and management of Daan Tech service contracts (including information about the status of your customer account, your delivery address, product features such as a change in available colors or an improvement to the product etc.).

  • Daan Tech Newsletters

Following the creation of your customer area and if you have not objected, you can receive information and offers from Daan Tech by electronic communication (email, sms …). These newsletters will keep you informed about Daan Tech news and benefits that you can enjoy on our website Daan Tech on products similar to those you have already ordered or visited our website. We measure the opening rate of our electronic mailings in order to adapt them to your needs.

  • Postal mail

If you have not objected, you may receive offers and information by mail from Daan Tech and its business partners.

  • Telephone contact

If you have not objected to this (except for automated call prospecting, which will be subject to your express consent), you may be contacted by our operators or partners to propose offers and services related to those you have purchased.

  • Product alerts

We can propose you alerts in order to be informed by e-mail of an availability or a news of your interest. These alerts allow you to be informed of the next availability of the product you are interested in.

On what legal basis and for what periods are my personal data processed?

The processing of your personal data is justified on different grounds (legal basis) depending on the use we make of the personal data. Below you will find the legal bases and retention periods that we apply to our main processing operations.

  • The contract: the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of the contract to which you have
  • Consent: you agree to the processing of your personal data by means of an express consent (check box, click ….). You may withdraw this consent at any time
  • Legitimate interest: Daan Tech has a business interest in processing your data that is justified, balanced and does not infringe your privacy. With few exceptions, you can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time by notifying Daan Tech at privacy@daan.tech
  • The law: the processing of your personal data is made compulsory by a law

Shelf life

  • Most data (e.g., customer area information and order history) is retained as long as you are an “active” customer and for a period of 5 years after your last activity (e.g., purchase, login to your customer area, or expiration of a contract or warranty). Your data will then be archived with restricted access for an additional period of time for limited reasons and authorized by law (payment, warranty, disputes …). After this period, they will be deleted.

Who are the recipients of my data?

Transmission of data to subcontractors

The data we collect may be transmitted to service providers (subcontractors) that Daan Tech uses to perform its services for the purposes mentioned above, for example for the management, execution, processing and payment of your orders, as well as for marketing purposes.

Data sharing between Daan Tech services

The data collected on the Daan Tech website is primarily intended for use by Daan Tech staff to better understand you and to serve you better as a customer of the Daan Tech world. What are my rights regarding the use of personal data?

In accordance with the regulations on the protection of personal data, you can exercise your rights (access, rectification, deletion, opposition, limitation and portability if necessary) and define the fate of your personal data “post mortem” by email to privacy@daan.tech or by mail: Daan Technologies, 8 rue René Coty, 85000 La Roche-sur-Yon.

In order to allow us to answer quickly, we thank you to indicate your name, first name, e-mail, address and if possible your customer reference. Certain requests to exercise your rights (right of access) must be accompanied by a photocopy of an identity document bearing your signature in order to verify your identity and specify the address to which the reply should be sent. A reply will be sent to you within one month of receiving the request.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), in particular on its website www.cnil.fr.

Is my data transferred outside the European Union?

You are informed that your data will not be transferred for the above-mentioned purposes to companies located in countries outside the European Union which have a lower level of data protection than the European Union.

What about the personal data of minors?

The services of Daan Tech are not intended for minors and therefore Daan Tech does not process data specifically relating to minors. For example, we do not create marketing profiles related to minors.

It is up to the parents or guardians to decide whether their minor child is allowed to use Daan Tech services.

What use should be made of the data in connection with social networks?

The use of social networks and Daan Tech’s services or applications in connection with these social networks may result in the collection and exchange of certain data between the social networks and Daan Tech. We invite you to consult the privacy policies of the social networks in order to know exactly what information is collected by the social networks and which may be transmitted to Daan Tech in connection with its sites and applications and the purposes of use of your data, including for advertising purposes.

“Plug-ins and social modules

Our site uses “plug-ins” or social modules. These include the little “like” and “share” buttons on third-party social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn…. which you can find on our website. They allow you to “like” and share information from our site with your friends on social networks.
